Hi Android people! Is there any way to copy / paste without selecting an entire entry? I just want to select a word instead of a whole sentence. Any thoughts?

You should be able to select just a bit of text by holding down shift and moving the scroll wheel to the left or right (that's in editable text only of course).

Then press menu + c to copy.

omg... I have to try this right away. Too bad my roommate (and his G1) is out of town. All this time I thought that the only option was the long-press, select-all option. That drove me nuts. But why couldn't they just give us a WinMo style cut-and-paste? I've always been able to just touch-and-drag the area I want to select, and then long-tap to bring up the "copy" option in a contextual menu. That's so much more intuitive to me, and it was something I automatically did without even thinking or reading a manual.
