Hi all, I'm looking for some help with rooting. This is my first time rooting a phone (GSM Galaxy Nexus) and I've heard good things about Wug's Gnex Toolkit. The only thing is that I don't have access to a Win7 pc, but I have a Macbook running Win7 on Virtual Box.

So, my question is, has anyone successfully rooted their phone with Wug's Toolkit on a Mac using a Win7 virtual machine like Parallels or Virtual Box? Is it safe? Any input is appreciated, thanks.

Sent from my Galaxy Nexus

Never did it - haven't owned an Apple product in decades. But if the software can talk from the VM to the USB port there shouldn't be anything inherently "unsafe", unless the computer crashes halfway through the process. There's nothing there to make it less safe than doing it after booting "real Windows".

I tried to start the process on the VM but doing something simple like opening explorer took AGES. So I gave up and used a friends machine for it instead, and am finally rooted!
