Should I activate my Droid 4 on Verizon before rooting?

If you just want to root and be on the stock ROM, that should be fine. Just for the sake of everything working properly, I'd stay away from a custom ROM until it's activated though..just to make sure everything on stock is working.... but no it doesn't matter, If it were my phone, I'd activate it first.

just activate and root and it doesnt matter unless you are to install cutom rom.

Rooting before activating won't cause problems unless you install a custom ROM. If you are concerned then activate then root. Save difference
