n00b: Installing/Removing App "Damaging"?

My Evo4G had become pretty unstable lately.

Sometimes the screen becomes unresponsive, acts as if there's a finger on it, apps are FCing.
It's a ROM that I "cooked", just some removed bloatware and root access.
Originally it was totally stable.

I try out and remove a lot of apps. Wondering if this is the cause of the instability and if I'll have to wipe every so often.

Doubtful but you have so many variables at play it's impossible to say.

You may have screwed up something with that root. Its always a possibility when rooting devices.
