Screen purple - did I mess up the LCD?

My son replaced broken glass on my G2X -simple enough job since he already replaced HIS when he broke it....now mine.
Once completed and turned on the screen has deep purple over much of the landscape. I noticed the screen had a little white in one corner before even being turned on......and when on but sleeping it shows white in same corner - not like bright but as if there were a tiny light inside at the corner.....
Still useable but not ideal. Turned off and on, etc, no change.
My guess is we somehow broke the LCD?
Could it be the any of the connectors being not fully seated?
Not a big deal - $25 gets a new LCD but it is a pain none the less.

I'd try reseating the connector(s) first.

Tried that - no change.....

OK - so now I replaced the LCD and exact same problem. When on the screen has a ton of purple........photos are as a sepia with purple - photo gallery and camera are about useless
When phone is off - insert battery - you can see light on the screen - not bright but most in the right lower corner.
I am thinking this is a motherboard issue somewhere..........any thoughts?
