Awaiting delivery of my Nexus 4 - 16GB, is there software to back up the phone data to my PC?

You'll be using Google to sync most of your phones data, such as contacts and apps. You can take it a step further and use third-party apps to save various data, such as text messages, call logs, apps (app data backup requires root) and various phone settings/layouts. I'm a Googler from way back on my laptop, google drive is set, google photos, even have a google site, so I guess once I sign into my google account it's all automatic?
