Is there any way to put a shortcut to a file on the native homescreen? I don't know that I want to use a launcher, so I'm wondering if this is even possible? I have an excel spreadsheet that I access several times a day, it would be nice to get to it with one tap.

Thanks

There's a free file manager called "Linda" that allows you to create shortcuts to files on the home screen. Navigate to the file, long press on it, and then hit create shortcut. I don't think there's a native way to do this.

thanks Cory. I second the use of Linda File Manager because

1. it's free
2. available on the Market and off the Market for those who are in other countries
3. has high rating
4. small and lightweight
5. allows you to create a shortcut to a file, and put the shortcut on home screen
6. you can uninstall Linda File Manager later and the shortcut remains
7. it's FREE
