How do I get rid of this big arrow next to my keyboard?

I don't know how I got this big arrow to appear next to my keyboard, but I can't get it to go away. Restarting didn't help. When I rotate the phone horizontally, it disappears. Help, please.

When I tap it, it flips to the other side.

Welcome to the forums. Your photo is broken, so I'm not sure what arrow you are referring to. I initially thought "he's not talking about the backspace or enter keys, is he?" but you mention it flips to the other side, so I'm not sure.

What keyboard are you using? If it's just stock/default, what phone do you have?

I'm using the default keyboard on a Sprint LG Optimus G. I've had this phone for about 2 months and this big arrow has just recently appeared. I'll try again with the photo. Does this work:

I'm using the stock keyboard on a Sprint LG Optimus G. Attempting to get a picture up.... Maybe it would just be easier to download a different keyboard?

Do a long press on the arrow and see if something pops up.

Perhaps it's from something you've installed

Photo, is still needed then.
If it's not part of the keyboard, it's probably from something you've installed.

Unless someone with the same issue sees this thread, a photo is the only way we'll know what you're asking about.

Ok I just checked the manual for your phone and there is no mention or photo of this.

If like you said it just started.
Then you should look at anything you installed just before it started.

Any, app, widget, anything you've installed from the Google Play store, especially if you got an app from anywhere else

Is it by chance a way of accessing your clipboard or search history? I noticed that the keyboard has a search key and not the enter key.
Or maybe it is a way for one to switch from lefty to righty.

I just seen that the Note 2 has a single handed use setting and has a large tab with an arrow (although pointed the other direction). Check your settings for single handed or small hand settings.
So it may well be for right/left hand orientation.

Yup. I think it is for single handed use because of the large screen. Heres an address to the article.

You can probsly find the setting under "Languge and Input" or something like that.
