Phone shows wifi hotspot "not in range" even though PC connects easily

I'm a Comcast customer and so have access to their Xfinity wireless network. Often my PC will connect easily at a given location, but the Huawei Ascend Plus phone shows the network as "out of range." Would this be a result of feebleness of the phone's wireless antenna, or could I be missing something in the settings, etc.? Obviously, I have wifi turned on and the phone sees the Xfinity and many other networks. It is also not a Comcast login problem, since login doesn't take place until you are connected to Xfinity, and I never get to that point. Thanks.--Paul
