I have a Nexus 4 running stock 4.2.2. I first used it with a PAYG SIM to test network coverage etc. When I decided to switch network permanently I got a new SIM and switched my existing long-term number, ditching the PAYG SIM.

Settings/About Phone/Status still reports the first SIM's phone number and IMEI. (The IMEI on the new SIM agrees with that attached to my account.)

How can I make Settings/About Phone/Status display the correct info? I know my own phone number, but it's a pain in the backside ejecting the SIM.

(Other "info" apps also mis-report the numbers.)

    Thanks

I'm severely confused by your question.

The IMEI will never change, this is static to the device.

The SIM & Phone number are reported via the SIM that's inputted, and refreshed usually by the network once you begin placing and receiving calls, voice mails, etc.

What ever active phone number is on the SIM card in the phone, is the one that will be used to make and receive calls, regardless if your seeing something different, on a stock, unaltered phone.

SIM card is the master, phone is the slave.

Thanks. Sorry I thought SIM and IMEI were synonymous. My bad.
SIM number only seems available via an app, not Android direct. And I guess I'll just have to put up with the phone number not being correct.

Have you tried a factory reset after changing SIM?

Perhaps the device isn't the problem? Maybe the service provider accidentally provisioned the SIM with your old number. When you call someone, does the new number show up on their caller ID?
