Hi, I've been looking to get a 10 inch tablet to upgrade from my first gen kindle fire.

While the resolution of the Nexus 10 is really tempting because I will be using the tablet a lot for reading digital comics and web browsing, I don't want to spend $400 at the moment.

So far my top choice is the Acer Iconia a210, which is on amazon for around $250. It seems to be one of the cheapest 10 inch tablets that has Tegra 3. I wanted to make this thread to make sure I wasn't missing any that has similar specs (or even better) for around the same price.

Link to Acer Iconia a210: Amazon.com: Acer Iconia Tab A210-10g16u 10.1-Inch 16GB Tablet (Gray): Computers & Accessories

    Thanks in advance.

Acer makes decent tablets, but they tend to be a little heavy. I used to have an A500, which was a fine piece of hardware, but compared to my Asus TF300, it felt like a tank.

Check out various daily deal sites like woot.com. They currently have the 9.4" Sony Xperia Tablet S 32 GB with cradle for $280 (+$5 shipping), and it's NEW, not refurbished. Tegra 3, 1280x800, gets good reviews.

The Toshiba Excite is also pretty good--just make sure you find one that has a Tegra 3, because I think earlier models had a different, slower processor. Here's the 16 GB Excite at Rakuten.com for $238, but keep in mind it's refurbished:

Rakuten.com - Toshiba Excite AT305-T16 10.1" Tablet Computer, 16GB, 1GB RAM, NVIDIA Tegra 3 (1.20GHz), 1280x800 WXGA Display, NVIDIA ULP GeForce Graphics Card, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 10Hr Battery, HDMI, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich

Thanks for the feedback. I'm thinking about spending the extra $50 and getting the TF300 for $300. Was trying to avoid refurbished, but I'll definitely give those sites a look.

Here's another good deal for the next 24 hours--Toshiba Excite 10 with 16 GB, with Tegra 3, for $199 at 1saleaday.com. It is refurbished, which I realize is a concern to you, but still a pretty good deal!

Check out the new Lenovo S6000, I recently bought one from Best buy for $274 with 32gb and using the new smaller 28nm quad core processor architecture and a large battery. My wife has a Toshiba Excite 10 which I believe is a GREAT tablet: all aluminum construction with Gorilla Glass and Tegra 3. Good luck with your search.
    Cheers

The Lenovo looks interesting, but I can't find any reviews for it. It's kind of weird, pretty big company and a really competitive price.

I am also looking for user reviews of Lenovo IdeaTab S6000. I need a big screen tablet with wifi and 3G.

The Lenovo S6000 is only $250 at Walmart and Amazon. I can't find any reviews for it either. I'm guessing it's very similar to the Asus Memo Pad Smart 10, which also isn't getting any reviews...

I saw it at Office Depot for $250 as well. The S6000 is odd in that it divides its memory into Internal Storage and USB Storage. The Internal Storage is only 3 GB, and I believe this is the partition where you can install apps, so that's not very big. It's like how older phones partition their onboard memory into a smaller area for apps and a larger area for user data, instead of the unified storage that is much more common these days.

I recall that when the S6000 came out, it has a ridiculous glitch that limited the app storage to only 1GB, which was quickly corrected--but only to 3 GB.

Edit--sorry, that glitch was on the A1000, not the S6000. But I believe the latter still doesn't have unified storage.

There's the ASUS TF701T- B1-GR 10.1-Inch Tablet, pretty good specs and is going for $279. Ultra-high definition 10-inch IPS Display (2560 x 1600), 1080p video recording at 30fps, 1.2MP Front & 5MP Rear cameras, 13 hour battery life, 1.9 GHz Nvidia Tegra 4 processor, 2 GB RAM, 32 GB storage. Also can get optional docking keyboard.
If thats a bit out of your price range you can try the Lenovo Yoga 10 HD+ at 250, also pretty good specs, but doesn't have a Tegra processor.
