It's important to distinguish between
removing an app shortcut from your homescreen and actually
uninstalling an app. I suspect that you've just been removing the app shortcuts from the homescreen--this doesn't actually uninstall the app from your device. The homescreen is like the Windows desktop, where you can create shortcuts to a Windows program, but deleting that shortcut won't delete the Windows program.

Agree with the Amazon Appstore. To install it, first go to your
Settings>Security menu, and check the "Unknown Sources" box. This will let you install apps from places besides Google Play. Then use your device's browser to go to amazon.com/amazonappstoreapp, and follow the instructions to download the Appstore installer. When finished downloading it, swipe down your Notifications shade, tap on the Appstore installer file, and follow the instructions to install.
Any reason you don't want to start a Google account? Without one, you probably won't be able to realize the full potential of any Android device.

You can do this using the Google Play Store's website on your desktop browser, but this requires you to have a Google account. If you browse for apps on the Play Store using your computer, you can choose to install an app to any of your devices. As long as your device is connected to the web, it will receive the installation request, and download that app to install. I believe you can do something similar with the Amazon Appstore by going to this site:

You often can't tell until you run the app. One annoying thing that more apps are doing is a license check upon startup, which means an app that you already bought may still want to check the web to make sure your license is valid. A big pain if you don't have web access and want to run the app.
For wi-fi issues, check out this guide:

Good luck, and have fun!
