Nexus 5 Gallery app images not loading

Hi, this is my first post to the forums.

Recently I have found when I open the Auto Back up file in the Gallery app, it loads all the thumbnails up to a point and then nothing. The screen shot below shows where the loading stops:


I have tried to following to resolve the issue:

• Reset phone
• Cleared Gallery app cache and reset
• Scrolling through the images in filmstrip mode

The photos appear in the new Photos app and on G+.

Anyone have any solutions or anyone else having similar problems?

I was having slow loading issues. Have you tried a different internet connection?

I noticed exactly the same problem on my nexus 5 today. I got quite a shock as I thought all my older images had been deleted.
I was able to see them again by touching the option icon (3 dots at top right) and then selecting Group > Time to display by date.
However, I then noticed that one of my date groups was not loading.
Looks like gallery has an error.

Go to Albums and tab the three dots on the top right corner and make sure wifi sync is on
