Hello everyone. So as the title suggests my nexus 5's battery is draining due to something. I've been using the device for a couple of months now, and it was all fine till one week ago. I used to get a good one day battery timing with about 4 hours of screen time. Now all of a sudden my battery is draining like anything. I believe that it is due to a wakelock as andriodOS and Andriod system, are likely on top of my battery usage. I previously installed GSAM battery monitor pro and under wakelocks, it shows alarm at the top. I have no alarms on, and I have tried deleting my google keep reminders. Still, the battery is draining.

Right now I am having 15% battery remaining after 12h 13m 25s
here are the complete details:
Android OS 72%
Andriod System 8%
Screen 8%
phone idle 3% at 11h 1m 14s

I would really appreciate help as this is making me not being able to use my phone normally. Also the phone keeps hot most of the time. I was also using DS battery saver pro which helped me get the above stats as it drains even more quickly without it.
Any help would be really appreciated.
Nexus 5 Stock Android 4.4.2
Thanks!

Can you provide a screenshot of the battery stats? Include the list of the apps and the graph as well please.

Yes tried that as well. The problem once got solved itself for one day, and everything became normal, but the next day the problem came back.

Clearing the cache partition will not erase any personal data nor will it damage anything. It can correct a number of fairly nonspecific issues, so it's worth a try.

So I tried clearing the cache partition, but there's still no significant difference in battery drain. Its draining at the same rate. About 3 percent in about 15 minutes of no use, with only wifi turned on.
As in one of the screenshots, the alarm comes at the top of kernel wakelocks. So any way to get the exact app which is causing the phone to stay awake?

Battery not draining anymore .. Phone not getting hoy anymore, at least not that quick. Phone used to stay 40?c most of time, now its 35?C almost at rest. No more worries about wakelocks anymore I hope.!

Thanks to both of you for helping me get out of this trouble .. Any suggestions not to encounter it again?

And now there's this another wake lock. Although it's not draining my battery too much to notice, but still I would want to get rid of it. I think its normal but I would like to be clarified of it is normal or not!

It is so hard to say what the cause was. I typically clear cached data on my devices once a month. Some might say that is overkill, but I am used to doing it and it helps keep my devices snappy.

Anyhow, it worked and device is back to normal. Hopefully this forum will help other people as well.
Just a screenshot! Thanks again!
