Why am I unable to sync Outlook with new Gmail app?

Unable to sync Outlook with new Gmail app

Hey,

I just updated the GMail app to the latest version, which is supposed to bring support for other non Gmail email services.

But when I try to add my hotmail account to it, it keeps giving a "your username or password is incorrect". Could anyone help me out with this? Also, I should add that I've enabled two step authentication for my hotmail, could this be causing conflicts?
