Why aren't I seeing pictures from Galaxy S5 to my Samsung LCD TV using an HDMI adapter?

No picture from Galaxy s5 to Samsung LCD TV Using HDMI adapter. Please help

I am trying to hook up my Galaxy S5 MHL adapter HDMI cable to my Samsung1 LCD Tv. It has HDMI ports in the back of the TV. This was working on my older model Sony TV, but doesn't seem to work on this TV. I changed the source to the HDMI output ( tried both ports) with no luck. It says that HDMI has been connected on my phone but Nothing happens. Does anybody have any ideas on what I could be doing wrong?

1) Are you using the same HDMI cable? (Samsung is a little tricky with their microUSB ports, so an adapter that works on other phones may not work on a Samsung.)

2) Have you tried a different HDMI source? The TV's HDMI inputs may be bad.

(I use Chromecast to get the phone to the TV, so I don't know if there's something you have to press on some menu to get the S5 to send the video to the microUSB connector.)
