i just got a new phone/tablet today and i was going through the process installing all my usual applications to monitor my ram usage and ect. i noticed i was using all my ram and my phone only had that application installed on it. so i killed all the apps and it still had over half of the memory in use with no apps running.
i poked around on the phone and noticed a couple bloat apps on it, so i removed them and tried to kill all the apps again and still over half the memory is being used... i though it might be something to do with the launcher so i downloaded the smallest and simplest launcher out there (smart launcher 2). and killed all apps once more and still over half of the memory is being used. i have rooted my phone and ran root checker on it to make sure it was rooted but i wouldn't even know where to start in finding out what is using 500mb of ram constantly. i thought it may be the ROM but i haven't found one i can use. its not compatible with Cyanogenmod and i cant pull the battery.
any help is appreciated. see link for phone specs.

(yes i realize its a cheap Chinese phone but there has to be an explanation as to why its using over 500 mb of ram all the time.)
