Check Settings/Device/Accessibility/ and make sure you don't have any "helpers" enabled. I got into that mode once accidentally, and I think that's where the wrong thing was checked (and it took a lot of work to get it to uncheck instead of telling me what I was pressing).

Go into settings - applications. Look for touchwiz launcher and clear the cache. Let us know if that helps.

It sure looks like the same problem I was having. Play around in Accessibility and see if you can get it to turn off and run what you press.

Agree with Rukbat--that kind of thing is usually related to Accessibility features. Go to Settings>Accessibility--is anything turned on there?

Hello. I actually came across this problem just now. In my case, I was fussing around with a wired xbox360 controller and my old galaxy SII's settings. It had nothing to do with accessibility, or touchwiz, which I don't have. I moved one of the files from the system/usr/keylayout folder, one that had today's date. after rebooting, nothing had happened, so I went to the folder once more and removed all files with today's date. All the others had a 2008 date, which I think is default. Anyways, after moving these files somewhere else, I rebooted and everything was back to normal.

Before that, I also tried wiping the phone's cache via the recovery mode. I don't think that helped at all, but who knows? certainly not me.

I highly suspect it has to do with the most recent files in system/usr/keylayout, and I believe it's safe to delete the ones I moved.

The worst that can happen is probably the keyboard forgets all your completion choices.

BTW, before doing anything like connecting foreign hardware, or making a major change to anything, you might want to do a nandroid backup (CWM or TWRP). Then if it all blows up in your face, just restore the backup. (I once "installed" a keyboard as a ROM - instant bootloop no matter what I did. Five minutes later I was running the backup. Seems Android can't boot on screen keyboards.)
