Why am I hearing static or if I had bad quality music on my Lg Volt?

On Saturday I bought the LG Volt and today in the afternoon, I kept hearing static through my earbuds, I used google music, soundcloud, and youtube and I still hear really bad quality. I tested my earbuds with another device and it work fine, sound was as usual. Any idea what it could be? I didn't mess with the headphone port or anything.

Welcome to Android Central! Have you tried other earphones? Have you tried to clean out the headphone jack with a can of compressed air? Do you hear the static on the main speaker, or with Bluetooth headphones?

If it's only with wired headphones, the jack might be defective. Bring it back for an exchange.
