Why am I not able to text to a specific iPhone user?

Texts- Android to Iphones

Okay, so I changed from an iPhone to an android I have the Kyocera brigadier and ive already deregistered my old iPhone and I can get and receive messages from every iPhone I've encountered but my dads, who I talk to a lot and need to text him. I cant get or receive texts going to or coming from him, I can call him, but I just cant text him. He's the only iPhone I know of that does this and I have no idea how to fix it, can anyone help?

It could be that your number has somehow gotten blocked on your dads phone..

Tell him to go to settings-phone-blocked and see if your number is there..
