Has anyone got a Hudl2 & deleted all the Tesco "bloat" off of it?

Is It Safe to do this, as it's a Xmas present for my teenage son?

Found this J.D.G Leaver blog where he/she advises on customising the new hudl2, as it's full of Tesco apps that you'll never use, especially a teenage boy and deleting them then adding the Nova Launcher, GReenify, SD Maid & BSPlayer which sounds ideal but as I'm no Bill Gates and don't really know what I'm doing I don't want to break/ruin a gift before he's even got it.

Hey!! If you install a new launcher like Nova from the Google Play store you can, once installed, have that as the preferred launcher thereby hiding the Tesco apps and widgets. It will ask what your preferred home screen will be. There is no way to uninstall them AFAIK
Picking one up next weekend so might get a page setup for Hudl2 owners. All the best!
