Welcome to Android Central! If the phone truly shut off prematurely due to low battery during an update, that could be pretty serious--there's a reason why they tell you to make sure you have plenty of battery or keep the phone plugged in during the whole update process.

How long has it been on that screen? Are you able to boot into Recovery Mode and wipe the cache partition or do a factory reset? https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-5994

I'm surprised it let you do an update with a low battery.

Its bedtime and If no one answers you tonight I'll try my best to help you tomorrow.

I hope you had things synced with Google, at least--like your contacts and calendar events.
