How to solve, "problem connecting to google servers" message

Installed lollipop recently on my N4, so many issues. I did a factory reset, but I may have missed the directive to enter a user email address for backup, not sure. Now I cant reactivate my phone, keep getting this message, "problem communicating with google servers" tried another reset no luck, same issue, can't go back. Cant sign in, Google customer service is a joke, why do we put up with this lack of support from a multi billion dollar company, an email address is too much to ask?
My precious N4 is a paper weight, I don't want lollipop, kitkat was fine, but no going back, google know what is best for me. Thank the heavens for these support forums, you tech savvy guys are saving google truckloads.
Anyway enough of the ********, can anyone help save my beautiful N4? I would be eternally grateful.

Try your carrier's repair location. Once you say "I may have missed", you can't say "it's entirely Google's fault".

Welcome to Android Central! You'd be surprised how easy it can be to get someone from Google tech support. Go to this website, and click on the Contact Us button at the upper right: https://support.google.com/nexus/?hl=en#topic=3415518. Select Nexus 4, then click on "Request a Call" or "Chat" at the bottom of the window.
