Is there a way to get the native email app to push to phone instead of having it sync at intervals?

I like it better than the Gmail app but i though I saw somewhere it could push as well but in settings it only looks like you can set intervals.

    Thx

If you have a paid Google Apps account you can configure your Gmail as Exchange and get push.

If you only have a free Gmail account the only way to get push is to use the Gmail app.

I have paid. So do I do that at the Android settings or in Google account?

    Thanks btw
