    recently my phone has stopped being able to connect to wifi. instead it sits in a process of forever trying to switch it on. my software version is 4.4.2. I have done some research and have attempted;
    1) taking the battery out, leave it for some time. rebooted phone.
    2)turned off phone, taken out SD card, turned on phone
    3)take battery AND SD card out, leave it for some time. put in battery, turn on, put in sd card

    if anyone has any other ideas, I am all ears thanks

    I would try rebooting into recovery and clearing the system cache.

    I found this: HTC Desire 601 (Virgin Mobile) - Resetting HTC Desire 601 (Hard reset) - SETTINGS & SERVICES - How-tos - Support | HTC United States

    Instead of selecting reset, there should be a recovery option click that. You will probably get a No command screen. Try pressing and holding volume up and clicking power. I have seen other recoveries do the exact opposite: hold power and click volume up.

    Perhaps that will help.
