Email client not sending mail

Hi

I am using the standard Android Email client to send/receive corporate mail using ActiveSync.

Receiving mail is no problem, but the client won't send mail until and unless I go to the Outbox. Once I change folders to the Outbox, all of the mail gets sent.

Is there something I have set up incorrectly, or is this the default behavior of the app? Is there a way around this?

(BTW, I am using an LG Optimus S, Android 2.2, Exchange 2010)

Have you tried any other Exchange clients? The stock apps aren't exactly the same on all Android devices so you might want to check forums/subforums specific to your make & model.
