TV shows Movies : how to hide from "Gallery"?

I'm ripping some TV shows from my DVD Box Sets and loading them up on my microSD card.

It's all going well, but I just noticed that when I look for photos or Vids in the Gallery, I am overwhelmed with all of these darn individual shows.

If I want to watch a show, I want to just find it in a folder somewhere on the SDcard.... I'm not interested in having them show up in my photo&video gallery. I want to keep the Gallery for my own photos and such.

Is there a way to put that stuff in a folder that won't be accessed by the Gallery app?

I did find some answers, but not exactly graceful.
The easiest is to put a "." in front of the file or folder name. This effectively hides the file from Gallery and other scans....and YOU!
By doing a search, though.. .you can re-find that file, though. So, instead of "Star Trek", it's ".Star Trek".... seaching for "Trek" brings it back for watching.

U can easily download a vault app to put certain pics and videos in that don't show up in the gallery.
