I took out the 32 gb SD card in my Galaxy S4 and copied the contents into a folder on my computer. Once I was done using the card for another purpose, I re-copied the files back and inserted it into my phone. After restarting and rebooting multiple times, the app icons are gray with the "SD" in the top right corner and say "App not installed" when I try to open them. What can I do??? I had music and other media as well on there that I really would like back.

    Thank you,

Since only pieces of apps are put on the SD card, and where they are on the card is what matters, and copying a file, then copying it back doesn't necessarily put it into the same spot it came from (which doesn't matter with files that are listed in the directory of the card - apps aren't), what you did can't work. You're going to have to reinstall the apps.

In the future, first move the apps back to the phone, then when you're finished with the card, move them back to the card.
