When I go to the Google Play store (either via the web or through the Google Play app on my Note 10.1) it says that the device isn't compatible with Microsoft Office for Android. I can use OneDrive and OneNote but not Word or other Office 365 apps.

The device says I've installed all of the latest updates. Anybody know if the device will be updated to make it compatible with Office? If not, it adds to my reasons for buying a Windows 8.1 tablet and selling this one.

The question is whether the app will be updated to run on the device, not the other way around. Email the developer and ask. (The email address is at the bottom of the Google Play page for the app. If it's Microsoft, don't expect a meaningful answer.)

As far as buying a Windows tab, if all you want is office, that's the best way for you. But if you want a large selection of apps, there isn't much in the Windows app store.
