Last week my S5 did an update to the OS. Some changes, still getting used to it.

However it seems to start LOTS of apps when I boot the phone. It never used to do this and I'd like it not to do this.

    How can I disable this?

There are apps that let you decide which apps get started at boot time. AutoStart - No root and Startup Manager (Free) are two of them.

On Lollipop in the 'Recent apps" list apart from the fact that there is no longer a "Clear All" option, rebooting doesn't clear them either as they all come back.

    Great eh?

That's just a list of recent apps, they're not all actually open.
