why is my battery dead after less than a month of use

I am using a virtual land 7 prestige tablet and after less than a month and the battery is dead.

Must have gotten a bad unit then. Batteries shouldn't 'die' after one month, no matter how intensely you use the device. Also, bear in mind that generic brands don't always use the best components, so that might also come into play with your battery.

But if this is after a month, you might try to get a warranty replacement, at least from the store you bought it from.
