Phone says connected to school wifi but no access. Under settings says no account with school. How is this possible?

Phone says connected to school wifi but no access. Under settings says no account with school.

Device shows no connection; says connected under networks; under connections, says no account for my school.

If this is a public, free wifi..sometimes they require you open a new browser window and click on accepting the terms. Other times, while it is free, it still requires you to get an access code and open a browser tab and there will be a place to enter the access code.
