Why is smart detect freezing?

Smart detect freezing

When I get on cookie jam it says smart stay cannot detect 6 our eyes and it goes gray and I have to wait until the battery dies to do any thing with it. How do I stop this?

You shouldn't have to wait for the battery to deplete. Can you remove the battery or force a reboot by holding the power button? That should let you get back up and running.
