    My friend and I both have the same phone. Mine was recently dropped and it has broken and i have no insurance but my friend does.

    How likely is it that if he says his phone is broken and we send mine off for repair that they will be able to tell it is not the exact model he purchased.

    Do you think they will check?

    No, the IMEI will not match and the policy will not cover it. Attempting to do this is also a crime.
