How can I remove a sticky strip off of my phone without scratching it?

A

AC Question

Phone case has left sticky mark

The case I have removed phone from obviously had glue down one side which wasn't obvious when I put the phone in. I now can't get the sticky strip off. Any suggestions on what to use to remove without scratching please?

Re: Phone case has left sticky mark

Welcome to the forums!

What phone do you have and what is the phone housing made of?

Lemon Oil, for furniture, will remove the sticky residue left by tape, stickers, etc. You can try it on glue. I it is oil, so it wouldn't be good to get on a leather or faux leather back of a phone. It won't hurt metal, plastic or glass. You put a little on a cotton ball or paper towel and rub gently, you can use cloth also, if it is just a rag. You might need to wipe it down with alcohol to cut the oil after getting the sticky off. But again.. This is all dependent on what the housing of your phone is made of.
