On an Andriod phone, if you use an AOL email account, can you get notified immediately when you get an AOL email like on my BB Storm 2. TIA

They say you can, but it is not like on the BB phones. Any email other than Gmail just does not get updates as quickly. You get them but not instantly.

Hi, lapeter.
Welcome to the forums.

Interesting question... actually I've never thought about that. I know I do get my Gmail and Yahoo mail quickly - I would think AOL wouldn't be any different. Also, you could change your settings on how your messages arrive.

Yeah, ActiveSync and IMAP are pretty darned close to BB's Exchange integration ("BES"). Realize that they have additional servers to do that, so there are times when the BB server will take a few extra seconds or minutes. But that's what you're talking about, usually a difference of a few seconds or a minute either-way.

I came from a Storm and Android is a paradigm shift -- in a good way, but takes some getting used to as it's truly a different operating system.
