Why can't I get navigation to play through my car speakers?

I cannot get navigation to play through my car speakers

In order to hear navigation from any application, I have to turn Bluetooth OFF. All this does is let me hear the voice over my phone. This is hard to hear, especially in a running car. I have a 2011 Hyundai Sonata. I have tried everything including changed the media and audio setting in the Bluetooth part of my phone. This is driving me nuts. I have checked everything and taken all of the advice given on this forum. PLEASE HELP!

Welcome to Android Central! To be clear--when you go to Settings>Bluetooth and tap on the car's setting icon, you made sure that Media Audio is checked on?
