please explain to me what Pain (Asura Path) [Asura Path] - 1101 - Rare naruto cards effect does?

I dont understand when it says "this ninjas team wins a victory regardless of the result of battle". Does that mean that if he defends a ninja who is stronger that he takes no damage? Please help its driving me mad
