Why isn't my touch screen working?

touch screen not working

hi my touch screen isn't working on my Samsung SGH i537 it turns on and you can see the screen but you cant unlock it or do anything. It has done this in the past but after awhile it started working again but no such luck this time any help would be greatly appreciated

Welcome to Android Central! The digitizer might be failing, which would require replacement.

Before taking it to a repair shop, try booting into Safe Mode, to see if the problem is being caused by some 3rd party app: Restart the Device in Safe Mode Samsung Galaxy S 4 | Verizon Wireless
