Why won't my Android boot up after a failed firmware update?

Android won't boot up after a failed firmware update

I was prompted with a firmware upgrade and when I tried to do it I got an error.
Maybe a month before that I was trying to root my phone but was unsuccessful, the upgrade had a warning about that but I ignored it. After that it all went well but I got an error at the end of the upgrade, now my phone is in the system recovery screen and I tried wiping data/doing a factory reset but that doesn't seem to work as it just opens the same screen after I reboot when the reset it complete.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am using a lenovo a5000 btw

Arghh same with me. I just do what u did now I'm stuck. How's ur phone now? What do u do to get it work back?
