I moved a folder that was on a home page (was there when I got the phone) to the trash can by mistake. Did I lose the apps in the folder along with the folder being deleted? Can I recover the folder?

No, thee things on the home page are shortcuts, not the apps themselves. Depending on the launcher (the phone comes with a launcher, and you may have installed a different one, so we can't know), you can make folders on the home page manually (by telling it to create a folder) or by putting one app on top of another

The apps are all in your app drawer (the icon on the bottom row with the dots). Go there, find the apps, one at a time, long-press an app and drag it to the home page. If you want them in a folder, try putting the second one at the bottom of, or on top of, the first one.
