Screen flickering

Is flickering on samsung devices (tablet in this case) a common trend?

That's not a common complaint. Is the whole screen actually blinking off very briefly and frequently? Or are you talking more about stuttery animations or scrolling?

It looks more like fluttering. It doesn't happen every time but has is enough that it's getting annoying since the tablet is less than 2 months from purchase date. Between this and not being able to register it I'm leaning towards getting a refund on it as I'm not happy with it at all.

Since it's that new, I'd try to get a replacement or refund at the store. Otherwise, contact Samsung for warranty repair.
