How to get music from sd card onto music app

I have put 4 gb worth of music on my 32gb micro sd card from my laptop I have previously formated my sd card in my phone before adding music I have tried creating a media file with a music file in it and just a music file both in the android folder on my sd card and I have tried com.goggle.music and it still has the same result I can play them but they do not appear in my music app which is the plain pre installed music app on the Samsung galaxy s5 any help ?

Did you vere find out how to do this as I'm struggling with the same - have a load of MP3s on my laptop which I can put onto my phone in the SD Card folder but then they don't appear in my Music list?:'(
