Finger scanner is not working. Samsung Alpha

I have Samsung Alpha which i bought 2 months back. I am using finger scanner for lock screen and private mode access. But all of a sudden the finger scanner is not working at all. There is some weird bug i cannot even change the screen lock from fingerprints to swipe, pattern or none. when i go to the settings to change the lock screen that setting page doesn't work.
Now i have some important files stored in private which i cannot access. I want to do factory reset but i am not sure if the backup will back the private files too and i will be able to access after that? what should i do to access the private files and to save them.?

Can you try Safe Mode?

What to do in safe mode? I tried going there and wipe the cache. But nothing happened. I just want my private files to be saved if i am going to reset the factory. Let me know how can i backup the private files. I can't turn private mode on because of finger scanning bug.
