screen is fingerprint locked and now not working and not accepting my backup password..suggestions?

for some reason my fingerprint scanner has locked me out and I cant unlock my screen with the backup password. Keeps telling me its the wrong password but i'm positive it's the right one

how can I reset passwords using the internet? I can't access my email account on my phone for new password codes etc as I can't unlock phone

I think I had to reboot my phone or let the screen turn off and then swiped up. Sometimes it worked and then sometimes it didn't. If it works just go into your Lockscreen security settings and reset your fingerprints password.
