Why won't animated GIFs exceeding a file size of 1 MB play out on my phone?

Hello,

I've been having trouble with my LG G Vista. My carrier is Verizon. When I connect my phone to my computer via USB to transfer pictures that include animated GIFs to my phone's gallery, some animated GIFs refuse to save to my device correctly.

The trend I'm noticing is that every GIF that won't play has a file size of 1 MB and over. The GIFs that were over 1 MB played flawlessly on my computer. The other GIFs (under 1 MB) that I transferred to my phone worked perfectly.

I'm fairly certain a lack of storage space isn't an issue. I have a 16 GB micro SD card placed in my phone, and it's practically unused.

Assistance is greatly appreciated on this issue.

Probably a limitation of that phone. If you are REALLY into gifs then maybe another phone would work better. Personally I find waiting for a gif to download and then finally display is a great waste of time. But that's me.
