Why can't I unlock my phone?

can help me solve this issue ? it would be much appreciated

i bought a phone a little over a week ago at first everything seemed to run smoothly until two days ago i went to turn my phone on only to discover the screen will not work i can't unlock my phone or anything i've tried everything i know to get it to work but have come up empty handed. what i find odd though, is that everything else seems to function properly it turns on like it works all the buttons work and yet its like the screen is in a frozen state. the phone is unusable. i need help...no one wants to spend their hard earned money on something that doesn't work.

Being a new phone I would contact the shop where you bought it and ask for a replacement.
