i have been trying for a while now to figure out how to do this from my phone. i finally decided to try if from my laptop and was successful. i opened my gmail contacts and selected the contact, then right clicked on the pic and selected save as..... the computer automatically opened my pictures folder with the option to save as .jpg. i selected that and now the pic is located on my hard drive. mind you, it's only thumbnail size, but it's a pic of my dad who passed away last year, so at least i have it now, even if it is too small to print.
