HTC M8 pattern lock - android device manager not helping.

Morning,

I changed my HTC to a pattern lock and forgot it instantly. Have entered 55 failed attempts and still no prompt for 'have you forgot your password'.

Logged on to device manager, reset the password to abcd now my phone goes between the 'Locked by Android Device Manager' screen and the pattern pin. No where has it given me an option to enter the new abcd reset password.

Chatting online with provider support but Im not using their sim card anymore so it comes down to a hardware issue.

If I can avoid doing a hard reset and losing everything on my phone it would be great!

Welcome to the forums. I was under the impression that your GMail credentials would be asked for. Is that an option you are getting?

Cheers. No unfortunately it just keeps letting me attempt the pattern endless times with 30 second lock out intervals.

Have you tried taking it to your carrier? They may have a way to bypass it. If not, you are only out the time to go there.
