igot sph l900 android version5.1.1 and say need sim card

If you don't have one, consider buying one and inserting it. You'll need one unless you intend to use the phone wifi-only.

If you have one in the phone, try removing and replacing. The SIM or the SIM reader may be faulty or dirty. If no difference, ask your carrier for a replacement SIM.
